Palwasha, a 14-year-old girl, has been struggling severely throughout her life with harsh medical conditions. Palwash is the eldest of the 6 children in her family. Her father is a cart carrier that works over 12 hours a day only to bring funds for a one time meal for his family. Despite their financial hardships, Palwasha and her family were living a happy life, but little did they know that they would soon face the harshest reality of life.
At the age 11, Palwasha fell ill and was hospitalized. After extensive medical exams, she was diagnosed with cancer and needed a bone marrow transplant urgently. Bone marrow transplant is not available in Afghanistan and due to their financial status, they could not afford to take her elsewhere. Luckily, Tolo TV featured Palwasha’s story and funds were raised for her to be treated in India. Her brother became her donor and today she is living a cancer free life.
After the completion of her medical treatment, Palwasha and her brother Jamshid started going to work with their father. Even though they worked alongside their father, they still were not able to provide for their family.
