Palwasha, a 14-year-old girl, has been struggling severely throughout her life with harsh medical conditions. Palwash is the eldest of the 6 children in her family. Her father is a cart carrier that works over 12 hours a day only to bring funds for a one time meal for his family. Despite their financial hardships, Palwasha and her family were living a happy life, but little did they know that they would soon face the harshest reality of life.

At the age 11, Palwasha fell ill and was hospitalized. After extensive medical exams, she was diagnosed with cancer and needed a bone marrow transplant urgently. Bone marrow transplant is not available in Afghanistan and due to their financial status, they could not afford to take her elsewhere. Luckily, Tolo TV featured Palwasha’s story and funds were raised for her to be treated in India. Her brother became her donor and today she is living a cancer free life.

After the completion of her medical treatment, Palwasha and her brother Jamshid started going to work with their father. Even though they worked alongside their father, they still were not able to provide for their family.

Children Without Borders Foundation

During Ramadan 2019, CWB initiated a campaign to raise funds for 10 families to be taken in our long term sponsorship, Palwasha’s family was one of the families sponsored through that campaign. Palwasha and her 5 siblings were enrolled in Tobya High School in Kabul, Afghanistan. Palwasha completed grade 5 in 2019, with above average. While Palwasha and her family continue to receive financial assistance, we are looking for a long-term donor.

Children Without Borders Foundation, CWB is a registered non-profit organization that has been formed to assist children who are currently engaged in physical labour and have become the breadwinners of their household. CWB is basically a bridge that will connect donors/sponsors with the most eligible children and their families. Every child that has been sponsored or awaiting sponsorship, CWB has investigated their families and have ensured that they are in fact in need of our assistance.

CWB learnt of this family’s story in February 2020 and has taken the family in our program. Ataullah along with his siblings have been put to school. Ataullah is currently a Grade 5 student at Darar-Manza Secondary School in Paktia, Afghanistan and CWB’s goal is to find a long-term donor for this family so we can secure Ataullah along with his siblings in the future.

CWB has made contributions extremely easy and flexible to your budget. We offer the following four types of sponsorship that are suitable for your budget.

  • One-time contribution of any amount
  • 3 months of sponsorship at the rate of $150.00 CDN
  • 6 months of sponsorship at the rate of $150.00 CDN
  • 12 months of sponsorship at the rate of $150.00 CDN

In return of your sponsorship, CWB will ensure to provide it’s sponsors with the following (this does not apply to a one-time donor):

  • Child’s complete biography.
  • School Registration.
  • Monthly signed receipts of payment by the family.
  • Progress reports including attendance record from the school every quarter.
  • Report cards for every 6 months.

All payments can either be made through our PayPal account (paypal.me/cwborg), or VIA cheques payable to “Children Without Borders Foundation”.

No contribution is too big or too small. Your contributions will build a child’s future, a family’s dream and will assist in building a civilized and educated society.
